Running is good for our health, of course. But, new research (study) says too much [running] is bad for us. It (Too much running) could make our life shorter, not longer. A researcher said too much running can damage (hurt; have a bad effect on) your heart. Runners can get heart disease (illness). Long-distance runners (People who run a long distance) and people who never exercise might have the same risk of heart disease.
Researchers looked at the health of 3,300 (three thousand and three hundred) runners. Most of them ran over (more than) 30 kilometers a week. Marathon (A long race about 42 kilometers) runners had hard parts in their heart.
A doctor who started running in 1967 (nineteen sixty seven) is sad. He ran 60 kilometers every week. He thought his heart was strong. Now he has heart problems. He said we should exercise, but not too much.
