Barbie presents Thumbelina- Part 1
Barbie is a teacher. He teaches kindergarteners, children from 3 to 5 years old.
One day, Barbie takes students on an excursion (short visit to a place) to a field near a big city.
The children find it very exciting; helping the environment, planting trees!
Barbie says; “I can’t think of a better way to help the environment. Ok everyone, pick a tree and let’s get started.”
Each child picks a tree. One of the students, Emma, takes a small tree.
But other kids laugh at her tree.
One boy says, “You are going to plant that?
“Yes”, Emma says, “what’s wrong with it?”
“But it’s so small”, the boy says. “ Just look at it.”
Emma is very upset.
Suddenly, Barbie says “I think Emma’s tree is beautiful.” “It’s tiny, but even the smallest tree can make a big difference (can make a big change).”
Then Emma laughs.
Then Barbie says, “Have a seat everyone (sit down everyone).”
And then she tells story, “a story that started, long time ago, in a beautiful field, filled with plants and flowers.”
“The field was not so far from a big city”, Barbie says, “but if you visited, you would think you were miles away from any people, and you would be right. But that does not mean the field was empty.”
