Cary was new to America. She came to America, from Mexico, speaking only Spanish. She brought her 10-year-old son, Mike, with her. They found an apartment in Boston. Then she found (past of find) a job in a supermarket.
Cary liked the job and her apartment. She liked Boston.
There was only one problem!!!!
They lived there for only 4 months, when one afternoon a neighbor’s dog jumped over the fence. The dog was running towards Mike, when Cary quickly put herself in between the dog and Mike. Cary started screaming (yelling; shout) at the dog. She was going to punch the dog in the nose.
The dog stopped, turned around and walked away.
They were scared.
She took her son upstairs. They stayed in the apartment all weekend.
Then Cary found another apartment, near the school Mike was going to attend (go to).
Cary and Mike walked everywhere. One day mike started coughing badly. He had an asthma attack. All the walking was making his asthma worse. Cary was very worried about her son.
Cary knew that she had to (needed; must) buy a car. So she called a Honda Dealer.
She talked to a salesman who spoke (past of speak) her language.
“We are new here,” She told the salesman. “I want to buy a car, but I don’t know where to go. Could you pick me up, please?”
The salesman said, “I will be right over there.”0 This entry was posted in Reading Intro (S. H. School) by Parviz with ۱ comment
